Yum Cha Dim Sum in Cairns at Treasure Court Seafood Restaurant

Treasure Court Seafood Restaurant is a nice Chinese / Cantonese restaurant located at the northern end of Cairns, on Florence Street, directly opposite the Cairns Aquarium. At dinner time they have a full al a carte menu serving up all the classic Cantonese dishes. At lunch times they have a Yum Cha menu with loads of different types of Dim Sum dumplings. The prices are reasonable with the dumpling prices ranging from $6.90 – $7.90.

I went in for lunch on a Friday. This restaurant is popular with local Chinese families and tourists, as I was the only non-Chinese person in the restaurant, which is always an excellent sign of a great Chinese restaurant.

I ordered up 3 of my favourite Yum Cha dishes, the Ha Gao Steamed Prawn Dumplings, Xiao Long Bao Shanghai Soup Dumplings and the Char Siu Bao BBQ Pork Buns. All very tasty!

The Xiao Long Bao were a bit different from the standard Shanghai Soup Dumplings. There was only a little bit of soup inside (first time I not burnt my mouth eating these!) and the pork was like a pork meat ball which was thick and chewing. I kind of really liked these!
