Vesuvio Napoli Wood-fired Pizza Restaurant Sukhumvit Bangkok
Vesuvio Pizza has the best pizza I have eaten in Bangkok. I have tried alot of pizza in Bangkok, it is after all one of the 5 Major Food groups. It is usually really hard to find good pizza in South East Asia. Whether it is in Thailand, Vietnam or Indonesia, the pizza base is usually really disappointing. Just like good bread, good pizza is very hard to find. I think it is something to do with the yeast in the pizza base, not liking warm, humid conditions to rise properly. Usually the base is not fluffy like a good pizza base should be.
Vesuvio Pizza is located on a small side Soi off Soi 8, which is directly opposite Soi 11, across on the other side of Sukhumvit Road. There are quite a few bars on Soi 8, so Vesuvio Pizza is perfectly located for a late night feed after a belly full of beer.
This is seriously good Napoli style wood-fired pizza. The pizza base is so fluffy and the ingredients on the pizza are very high quality. The peperoni on their most popular pizza, the Diavola (360 Baht) was excellent and under some of the pepperoni, the chef had put small clumps of chilli paste to ramp up the spiciness.
I definitely rate this the Best Pizza in Bangkok! I will keep searching and trying more pizzas, but so far this is the best i’ve eaten.
The 2nd best I’ve eaten is at Pala , which is located right under the Asok BTS station, next to the entrance to the Bangkok MRT Subway station.
