Tasty Indian Food at Sankalp Taste Of India Restaurant Surfers Paradise

Sankalp – Taste of India Restaurant is a classy restaurant in the heart of Surfers Paradise on Hanlan Street, just down from the Novotel Hotel. With a huge menu, there is a range of Indian food from both North India and South India.

Sankalp is part of the Sankalp Group of restaurants which has over 150 restaurants worldwide, with 6 restaurants in Australia, including this location in Surfers Paradise. The menu has all your classic Indian food including curries (vegetarian and non-veg), dosa, biryani and a range of Indian breads like roti and naan.

I went in for dinner and had 2 of my favourite Indian dishes. First up I had the vegetarian samosas ($7.99) which are golden triangular savory pastry filled with spiced potatoes, green peas and fresh coriander, served with a tasty mint sauce.

For my main meal I had my all time favourite, the chicken tikka masala curry ($19.99) which is succulent pieces of bone-less chicken, marinated with spiced red chilli paste, cooked in a tomato sauce. You can have the level of spiciness to your taste. I went for medium spicy and they cooked this spot on. This masala had a real, thick smokey flavour to it. One of the best chicken tikka masala I have ever eaten.

Rather than rice with my curry, i just went for a very tasty butter naan bread ($3.99). This was a huge serve of bread, nice and fluffy, great for dipping in the delicious masala curry sauce.
