Popular pizzeria at Nicolinis Italian Restaurant Surfers Paradise

Nicolinis Italian Restaurant has been serving traditional Italian food in Surfers Paradise for more than 50 years. This Italian restaurant first opened their doors in 1970! To this day, it is the most popular Italian pizzeria on the Gold Coast. Every time I walk past, lunch or dinner, this place is packed. It is always best to have a reservation here especially on the weekends.

I got in to try their food for the first time in December 2021. I went in Thursday night and only just managed to get a table. There were many other large groups who were being turned away but I got my table for 1, squeezed down the back of the restaurant.

I ordered a regular Americana pizza ($18) which is topped with homemade tomato pizza sauce, pepperoni and mozeralla cheese. I also ordered a side dish of green salad.

As to my verdict on the pizza, well I actually thought it was quite ordinary. This was very cheese heavy and overall I didnt find the pizza to have much flavour. I could hardly taste the pepperoni, with so much cheese on top. Overall, with the salad it was an enjoyable meal but if I was looking for great pizza, i would not be coming back to Niconlinis. Sorry to give such an ordinary review but I have to be honest to my opinion.

I tried to have dessert here, ordered the home made Tiramasu but sadly they came back and told me they had run out. They did not offer any alternative, just came and gave me the bad news that I was not going to try their Tiramasu. Sad dining experience at Nicolinis.

I am still looking of the best pizza in Surfers Paradise. I have tried some of the Pizzerias on Orchard Avenue but they are all very ordinary experiences.
