Plant Based Burgers at Soul Burger Parramatta

Who would have thought you can have a plant based burger that tastes like a real beef burger? Well at Soul Burgers, they have a magic formula as they serve up delicious burgers with no meat! I didn’t even know this was a plant based burger shop. I just heard about Soul Burger, located right behind the Commercial Hotel in Parramatta. I went in and then saw their menu which lists their burgers as plant based. These are vegan.

The menu is confusing as the burgers are listed as BBQ Beef Brisket, Lamb Brisket, Chilli Beef, Southern Fried Chicken, Italian meatball but if you read the fine print, you will see these are all plant based substitues. Why do vegos do this? Don’t want to eat meat but you want meat substitues! Eat your veges!

Anyways I had their Cheese Please burger ($15.90) which is a plant based ‘beef’ burger. Was I surprised! This was a damn good burger. If I had not known this was plant based, I would have sworn it was a beef burger. And the cheese tasted like real cheese, not any vegan cheese I had ever tasted before. I just wonder how much sodium they use in their plant based patty to make it taste like meat. Well I did enjoy it!

This is just a small burger shop, tucked away behind the Commerical Hotel, just 2 minutes walk from Parramatta Train Station. There are a few tables inside for dining in. They also have Soul Burger in Glebe and Newtown (home of the vegans!).

All jokes aside, these are really good burgers. I love my meat but I will be back to try some of the other burgers on the menu at Soul Burger. I happily add Soul Burger to the list of Best Burgers in Parramatta.
