Malaysian Street Food in Parramatta Square at Mamak
Mamak Malaysian Restaurant is a famous restaurant in Sydney Chinatown which has been serving up awesome Malaysian street food for more than 20 years. Now Mamak have a restaurant in Parramatta, located within the Parramatta Square, located right next to Parramatta Train Station. The food at Mamak Parramatta is Halal.
‘Mamak’ literally means a food stall selling street food, usually found in food courts in Malaysia and Singapore Mamak in Parramatta specialise in the famous Malaysian street food roti and satay.
I went in to try both their roti canai and their chcicken satay and was very impressed. The roti chennai is nice fluffy roti bread which is served with 2 types of curry dipping sauce and a spicy sambal chilli sauce. This brings back memory of eating roti for breakfast in Malaysia, Yummo!
The satay, I think, is sensational. Some of the best satay I’ve eaten in Australia. The spicy peanut satay sauce is so good. A nice spicy bite to it and the chicken is perfectly cooked over hot coals giving it a nice char grilled flavour.
They have other items on the menu which I want to try. I will be back to try their nasi lemak which is one of the national dishes of Malaysia.
I highly recommend the food at Mamak Parramatta.
