The Hutsadin Elephant Foundation, is a sanctuary for abondoned elephants from anywhere in Thailand. The oldest elephant they have (over 54 years old), used to work in a zoo in Bangkok.

You can visit the Elephant sanctuary, which currently has 4 elephants (1 male and 3 female). They raise money buy either doing day trips to the park where you get to walk with the elephants through a nature park and also get up close and personal by feeding them cucumbers.

Located about a 15 minutes Tuk-tuk ride from Hua Hin town centre.

I visited this Elephant Foundation after visiting the Elephant Village. At this one I felt a bit rushed like a tourist. They offered me to talk a walk with elephants (they do no do elephant rides). I opted to feed them which they charged me 300 Baht for 1 basket of cucumbers and pretty much at the 10 minute mark they were escorting me outside. I would definitely visit again as it was a pleasant experience but they do have chains around one of their ankles.

I met the guy who started the foundation and he told me the back stories of the 4 elephants. They seemed to come in from different provinces in Thailand. Some had been mistreated so they are very careful you do not get too close to them when you are feeding them.

If you wanted to just visit the Hutsadin Elephant Foundation you could get a Tuk-Tuk from Hua Hin down town area and pay 200 Baht. That is to take you there, wait for you and take you back to the town centre / your hotel. Or do what I do and plan mini trips and visit 3 or 4 places close by, go out for a few hours and play 1500 Baht.
