Hong Teh Chinese Restaurant Soi 11 Sukhumvit Bangkok

Hong Teh Chinese Restaurant is a good quality restaurant located within the Ambassador Hotel on the busy Soi 11 Sukhumvit Bangkok. They serve dim sum at lunch times and a full Cantonese al-a-carte menu at dinner time. I went in to try their Dim Sum and this place does some seriously good dumplings. They got a good Dim Sum chef to pump out high quality dishes.

Dim Sum is the same cuisine that is served as Yum Cha. Yum Cha means to drink tea, it is usually a mid morning meal, with a pot of tea and a few dumplings. The small portion style dishes are called Dim Sum. There are no trolleys bringing around the dishes, you just order from the menu and they prepare each dish fresh for you.

I had some of my favourite Dim Sum dishes – Xiao Long Bao Shanghai Soup dumplings which came served as 1 in these tiny bamboo steamers.

I also had their rice noodles with BBQ inside and the star of this meal was the BBQ Pork Pie which were pastries baked in the oven filled with a delicious sweet BBQ pork.
