Great Bistro Food at Cairns RSL

The Bistro at Cairns RSL Club serves up some delicious food, all your classic pub grub meals like steaks, chicken schnitzel, roast dinners and burgers. Located directly opposite the Cairns waterfront on Cairns Esplanade. This is a great Bistro serving food at very reasonable prices.

I got into Cairns RSL 2 times on my recent visit to Cairns. First time I went in for lunch and had their Rump Steak ($28) which comes with chips and slaw or mash and vegetable. I just went with some slaw, passed on the chips as I had a big week of eating ahead of me. This rump was one of the best steaks I have eaten in a long time. The steak was seasoned perfectly. I had some pepper sauce with the steak but I ate most of the steak without the sauce as it tasted so good. This was top quality beef which is not that much of a surprise as Far North Queensland does produce some of the best beef in the world.

Later in the week I went back and had their classic chicken schnitzel which comes with a slice of lemon, chips and slaw or the mash and veg. I did go for the chips this time and glad I did. The chippies were yummy! The schnitzel was a little bit over cooked but still tasted great. The schnitzel is very thin, the way it should be.
