Emperor’s Garden Chinese Yum Cha Restaurant Sydney Chinatown

Emperor’s Garden Chinese Restaurant in Sydney Chinatown, is one of my favourite Yum Cha / Dim Sum restaurants in Sydney. Emperor’s Garden has been serving up Cantonese Yum Cha since 1979, this is over 45 years and they are still going strong! Emperor’s Garden Chinese Restaurant is located right in the heart of Sydney Chinatown, located at the bottom of Dixon Street, directly opposite Paddy’s Markets.

Last time I visited, I choose all my favourite Dim Sum dishes, some steamed prawn dumplings, BBQ Pork buns and some prawn and chive dumplings.

Each dish was top quality! There is no waiting for food during their Yum Cha service, as they have plenty of trolleys going around the restaurant, so as soon as you sit down, you can grab some bamboo baskets off the trolley filled with delicious Dim Sum dumplings.

I always judge Yum Cha by their BBQ Pork Buns. These are perfect at this restaurant. The white puffy bread is just moist enough, not dry or too wet, and the BBQ Pork has a strong BBQ flavour. Perfect!

Prices are quite reasonable at Emperor’s Garden Chinese Restaurant. Also sold out of the window next to the main entrance to Emperor’s Garden Chinese Restaurant are the famous Emperor Cream Puffs which are a golden brown pastry filled with fresh cream. There is always a queue out the front to buy this Cream Puffs.
Yum Cha is served everyday starting from 8am.
