Buffet Breakfast at Doubletree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit Hotel
I stayed for 7 nights at the Doubletree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit. I had breakfast included with my room so had breakfast there 7 times and was very impressed. The buffet breakfast is served in the Open Restaurant located next to reception. This is probably the best buffet breakfast I have had at a 4 star hotel. They have 8 different food stations including hot food (bacon, sausages, potato etc), cereals, fresh fruit, salad, pastries and freshly baked bread, an egg station with chefs, a noodle soup station with a chef preparing noodle soups and they even have a station where you can make your own bloody mary with vodka! They also have 2 self serve coffee machines.
If you are paying for the buffet breakfast, it will cost you 706 baht including tax and service charge (around A$31). The restaurant also does all you can eat lunch buffet for 599++ baht (12pm – 3pm) and all you can eat dinner buffet for 749++ baht. You don’t need to have the all your can eat buffet, you can order other items off the menu.
They have a really good system to ensure your table is not taken while you are away for more food or refilling your coffee. They have a sign on the table, Red says – Good Morning! I am still here. If you are finished, turn the sign over to Green – Good Morning. I am done. This signals the staff that they can clean your table and give it to the next diners. This doesn’t always work. I had half a piece of toast on my plate, got up to get coffee and when I came back, a very over efficient staff member had taking my plate and was in the process of putting new cultlery down.
