Big Buddha Bangkok Restorations ending October 2024
The Big Buddha in Thonburi Bangkok (Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen) has been been having restoration work on the biggest Buddha Statue in Bangkok since July 2024. The renovation process is just giving a big clean to the exterior of the Buddha to scrub off all the pigeon poop! The restoration work is due to be completed by end of October 2024 *Thai time…..I visited on 25th October 2024 and work continues. If you have been here in November, please post a comment at the bottom of this page so we can update this page for other travelers.
The entire Buddha statue is covered in scaffolding and a green mesh, so you are unable to see the image of Buddha. The white stupa behind the statue is still visible and you can climb up to the 2nd level for a nice view.
This is how the statue should look! Read more about the history of the Big Buddha Bangkok.
