Best Pizza Restaurants in Sukhumvit Bangkok
I have been on the search for The Best Pizza in the busy Sumhumvit area of Bangkok. It is so hard to find good pizza in Bangkok, as well as all over South East Asia. I think with the high humidity, it is hard to get pizza dough to rise properly, so often the pizza base is hard and flat. To find a nice fluffy pizza base is a mission but I found some really good pizza in Bangkok. So here is the best pizza in Sukhumvit Bangkok:
Vesuvio Pizza Bangkok
I asked a few expats in Bangkok where to find the best pizza. They all said Vesuvio. I had never heard of it but it turns out it is right in the heart of Sukhumvit. Vesuvio Pizza is a small pizza shop on a very small side Soi directly off the beginning of Soi 8 Sukhumvit. Soi 8 is located directly opposite Sukhumvit Road from Soi 11, very close to the Nana BTS Skytrain Station.
Vesuvio Pizza have a real Italian pizza oven for making their delicious wood fired pizza. The pizza style is Napoli. I had their Diavola pizza for 360 Baht and gobbled down the entire pizza. This is by far the best pizza I have ever eaten in Bangkok! I highly recommend the pizza at Vesuvio. Read more about Vesuvio Pizza Bangkok.
Otto Pizza Soi 8
Pretty much directly behind Vesuvio Pizza, you’ll find Otto Pizza, on the 2nd small alley off Soi 8. The pizza at Otto is a very close 2nd behind Vesuvio. I had a vegetarian pizza at Otto’s and the pizza has the same fluffy base. The have a proper pizza oven which helps cook the pizza evenly. Read more about Otto Pizza Bangkok.
Pala Romana Pizza
Pala Romana Pizza is located right at the entrance to the Sukhumvit BTS underground station, right next to the Asok BTS Station, just down from Terminal 21.
While they class this as Rome style pizza, it is nothing like any pizza I have had in Rome but it was very unique. There pizza here is good so they deserve to grab a spot in this list of best pizza in Sukhumvit Bangkok.
The pizza base at Pala is made from a Foccacia bread so is very doughy, a bit greasy but just works as an excellent pizza base.I went for a pepperoni pizza which came with olives which gave it that extra salty flavour. I really enjoyed the pizza here.
At the front of Pala, they have a display cabinet with all the pizza slices ready to be bought for take-away or for dinning inside their restaurant. You choose what slices you want and then they re-heat the pizza in the pizza oven. Simple.

Tony’s Italian Restaurant
Tony’s is an award winning Italian restaurant located on Soi 11 Sukhumvit. Opened in 2021, they started winning awards in 2022. They serve up New York style Italian food, including New York style pizza.
For a classy restaurant, the prices are not too expensive. A pepponi pizza cost me 420 Baht. The wood fired pizza has a lovely fluffy pizza base and they rest the pizza dough for 72 hours to ensure it has risen as much as possible before kneading it into the lovely pizza. The pepperoni was nice and spicy, a very pleasant pizza indeed.
