Awesome Japanese Yakitori Restaurant in Singapore at Nanbantei
Nanbantei is an awesome Japanese Yakitori Restaurant that has been open in Singapore for almost 40 years. Their first restaurant in Far East Plaza first opened in 1983. They now have 2 restaurants in Singapore, the other one is at New Bridge Road Singapore. This is an excellent Japanese restaurant serving up grilled meat skewers. I have been to many Yakitori restaurants in Japan, and Nanbantei in Singapore is very much as good as you get!
I was staying at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on Scotts Road, which is very close to Far East Plaza shopping mall. I went in for dinner at Nanbantei and was so impressed with their excellent meat skewers.
I ordered up some of my favourite Yakitori skewers. Yakitori actually means Grilled Chicken in Japanese, but it can refer to any meat on a stick. I had a few Chicken skewers and the very delicious Wagyu Beef skewers which were so tender, perfectly cooked and just the right amount of seasoning. They also have a choice of vegetable skewers.
This is a very cool restaurant with an open kitchen so you can see the chefs cook the skewers over the open hot coal BBQ. Such a great dining experience.
I have been to a restaurant in Tokyo called Nanbantei, located under the Hilton Hotel in Shinjuku. I thought this Nanbantei in Singapore was associated with that restaurant in Tokyo, but I asked in here and they said they were not associated. Very strange as the sign out the front is almost identical to the one in Tokyo.
