Best Pizza in Darwin? At Mitchelli’s Pizza Shop

Right above the door of Mitchelli’s Pizza Shop on Mitchell Street in the heart of Darwin, is the sign saying Darwin’s Best Pizza! When ever I see a restaurant proudly displaying the ‘best’ then I have to go try. I do love my pizza, it is after all one of the five major food groups. So I went in to grab a pizza from Mitchelli’s to see if it really was the Best.

Well I haven’t tried all the pizza in Darwin, so can’t judge against all the other pizza shops but I can say the Pizza at Michelli’s Pizza Shop is very nice. This shop gets busy! I went in on a Sunday night to order a take-away and waited about 35 minutes before my pizza was ready. There was a steady stream of people coming in to collect their pizza or place new orders. If you love good pizza, then be prepared to wait!

On the wall next to the counter where you order, there are the pans on the wall showing you the sizes of the pizza. I ordered a Regular Sized Mexicano Pizza $18. The regular pan on the wall looked tiny, like a 6″ pizza but the Regular turned out to be quite a good size, around 12 inches. I was dining alone and couldn’t finish it all, so had cold pizza for breakfast next morning. Still very tasty even cold! I did get Pineapple added to my pizza for an extra $1, Yes I love pineapple on pizza! That mix of sweet against savoury is soooo good!

There are a few tables inside the shop where you can dine in and there are also some tables out the front of the shop. They also deliver!

I will be back in Darwin soon and I will try other pizza shops, but as it stands, Mitchelli’s Pizza Shop served me the best pizza I have eaten in Darwin. Would I recommend you try it? YES FOR SURE. This is good pizza!
