Yum Cha in Parramatta at Tingha Palace Chinese Restaurant

I may be wrong, but I believe Tingha Palace Chinese located in the Parramatta Leagues Club is the only restaurant in Parramatta serving Yum Cha. There used to the Sky Phoenix in Westfields but that closed down during the lockdowns. Please correct me if I am wrong – leave a comment at the bottom of this page if you know of another place that does Yum Cha Dim Sum in Parramatta.

I went in for lunch with a Chinese friend in December 2022 and was pretty impressed with the quality of the Yum Cha. I would say it is not as good as many of the Yum Cha restaurants in Sydney Chinatown but it is still pretty good. Well if this is the only Yum Cha Restaurant in Parramatta then I could get away with saying this is the best Yum Cha in Parramatta.

We had a good selection of different dumplings and my friend ordered the Chicken Feet. I am not a fan of Chicken Feet, just too many little bones, not enough meat, just very soft skin. Too much effort for so little reward.

We had all my favourites, the Steamed Prawn Dumplings, BBQ Pork Buns, Flat Rice noodles with prawns, sticky rice and of course the chicken feet.

All the dumplings were very good. The only dish I was disappointed with was the sticky rice. This was pretty bland with not a lot of different fillings inside. Usually a good sticky rice in a Cantonese restaurant you get lots of pieces of pork or Chinese sausage but not a lot in this one at Tingha.

Overall a very Yummy Yum Cha experience.
