I’ve stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel a few times and the service is 2^nd to none! I’ve stayed at Shangri-La hotels in a few cities now and they really have their act together. Just simple things like being greeted at the door when you hop out of a taxi by a hotel representative and taken straight up to your room to go through the check-in process. This is so much better than doing the check-in process standing at the reception front desk.

The rooms at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta are full on luxury. I got an upgrade to a Suite last time I stayed (August 2015) and it was HUGE. With a choice of 5 restaurants within the hotel (choice of Chinese, Japanese, Indonesia / Asia and Italian) as well as the most popular bar in Jakarta – B.A.T.S Bar which is also a steak house (check out our review for BATS).
