Delicious Steak Sandwich at Flinders Bar and Grill Cairns

Flinders Bar and Grill is located within The Reef Hotel Casino in the heart of Cairns. This is a great restaurant serving up some great pub food like burgers, steaks, fish and chips and a delicious steak sandwich. The prices are quite reasonable at Flinders Bar and Grill, with you being able to get a good feed from 11am though to midnight.

I had eaten at Flingers Bar and Grill a few times on previous visits to Cairns and enjoyed their North Indian Butter Chicken ($17) and their Homemade Steak and Guinness Pie (17) sorry no pics!

The steak sandwich is $17 and comes with a high quality 100 gram Scotch Fillet steak, crispy smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce, cheese, caramelised onions, beetroot, BBQ sauce, aioli and a generous serve of thick beer battered fries.

This was a very hearty meal and one of the best steak sandwiches I have eaten in a long time. The steak was perfectly cooked.

Since the delicious steak sandwich, I have been back 3 times to try more of the excellent food at Flinders Bar and Grill. first I tried a rump steak which was awesome! This came with a choice or salad, chips or mashed potato. I went with the chips and salad.

A few nights later I had their Wagyu Beef Burger which was another excellent choice. This Burger was huge!

Finally I tried their North Indian Butter Chicken which comes with rice and naan bread. This was a bit disappointing. The curry was very watery and not a lot of flavour. It was ok but think best to go to an Indian restaurant if you want a good traditional curry.

I did finish this meal with an excellent slice of delicious Raspberry Cheesecake. This made up for the ordinary curry.
